About TrotBritain
TrotBritain is the governing body for harness racing in Great Britain, dedicated to promoting and developing the sport of trotting and pacing throughout the UK.
Our Mission
To promote, develop, and regulate the sport of harness racing in Great Britain, ensuring fair competition, horse welfare, and an enjoyable experience for all participants and spectators.
What is Harness Racing?
Harness racing is a form of horse racing where the horse pulls a lightweight two-wheeled cart called a sulky, with the driver sitting in it. The horse races at a specific gait, either a trot or a pace.
Sulky Racing
Traditional harness racing where the driver sits in a sulky behind the horse. The horse maintains a trotting or pacing gait throughout the race.
Monte Racing
A variation where the driver rides on the horse rather than in a sulky, providing a different racing experience while maintaining the trotting gait.
